Naina

Oct. 24, 2025
Model: Naina Tri, Two Management

Exploring contrast through styling and setting. From the quiet tones of an enormous tree to the city sidewalk and the iconic LA streetlights, both looks play with balance and restraint — line, texture, and the muted palette found on an early morning walk in Los Angeles.

Both looks share a restrained palette and a focus on shape, tone, and attitude.

Jason Blum Variety Cover

Oct. 8, 2025
Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum, photographed for the cover of Variety.

For this shoot, I leaned into some of the visual language of horror — dramatic contrast, directional light — but kept it balanced with an editorial sensibility that still flatters and feels cinematic.

Cooper Hoffman

Aug 27, 2025
Cooper Hoffman photographed at the Chateau Marmont for a Variety Next digital feature.

I always love shooting at the Chateau Marmont — it’s one of those rare places where the walls just ooze with history and character. It seems like anything is possible. This was a quick, spontaneous session, balancing natural and artificial light to shape a mood of quiet tension.

Jussie Smollett

Aug 13, 2025
I try to never bring my preconceived notions to a shoot. There is a social contract between the photographer and sitter that the sitter will show up and play along and the photographer will try to get the best image of him or her that he can muster.

Sometimes the sitter is a famous performer or other luminary and sometimes they have gone through an incredibly public scandal and remain, to many people, persona non grata. This shoot was the latter.

There is a new documentary on Netflix called “The Truth About Jussie Smollett,” the goes over the scandal and brings new perspectives to light. Whether it exonerates Jussie Smollett is an open question that is not for me to answer. My job was to try to take a picture that spoke to the person behind the headlines. Who. Is. He. And I think, in my small way, I found that person.

Sara Sampaio

July 24, 2025
I did this shoot for WWD on the rooftop of the L'Ermitage Beverly Bills on a summer afternoon. We had been getting some nice late summer marine layer the days before so I was hoping it might stick around but no luck. It was all well and good though.

Shooting in bright sun can actually be a little intimidating because it can be very harsh, but you just have to know how to work with the light to get the most out of your subject.

I did a few different setups using the light in different ways and cajoling the publicist to bounce or flag the light accordingly. But it’s easy when you are photographing a Victoria Secret angel.

LeAnne Rimes

July 10, 2025
I photographed LeAnn Rimes for the “Healthy Skin Issue” of Flow Space. The magazine asked me to deliver warm, glowing images of LeAnn to go with their cover story about the singer’s health journey and struggle with psoriasis.

While this shoot was editorial, I approached it like I would a commercial shoot and delivered images that project health and wellness with a warm, glowing background, skin tones and happy subject.

Eric Dane

June 18, 2025
I had the opportunity to photograph Eric Dane at his house in the Hollywood Hills. There were so many great textures and rooms to work with and he was extremely accommodating with my ideas.

When taking pictures on-location and in somebodies home there Is always a certain level of set dressing that needs to be done - tables, pictures, speakers ect. moved out of the shot.

As a photographer, and guest, it’s important to remember to put everything back where you found It!

Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood

June 12, 2025
I had to separate this Extra Edition cover of Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood into its own post. There are sometimes shoots that feel a little bigger culturally and that you know are going to make a splash - this was one of them.

The White Lotus is one of those shows that has a big cultural impact and these two, and their storyline, was a standout on the show. But in the months since airing there had been rumors of a feud and this cover story got to the bottom of it and more. You could also just feel their intense connection and friendship on set which always leads to better photos.

Finally, Walton Goggins was a total ball of energy and charisma, which can be difficult to try to harness at a photoshoot. You don’t want to give too much direction at the risk of losing that lightning-in-a-bottle, but at the same time you have to get the shot in a way that works for your assignment. Sometimes you just have to hold on tight and go with the shoot as it unfolds, which is exactly the type of terrifying yet exhilarating magic that only comes along once in a while and keeps you coming back to for more.

Emmy Extra Editions

June 9, 2025
I have been fortunate the last several years to be asked to shoot the Variety Emmy Extra Editions, which highlight the top actors and talent in TV for that year.

For this one I wanted to build a small set out of seamless paper, foam core and the occasional large cardboard box. It’s so much more fun to shoot somebody in a space you can move around and play within. The walls were also so light I could just move them and create different spaces depending on the talent.

This setup also required a fair amount of grip and rigging which is quite fun to conceptualize and build.
